Interview with Ralph and Rachel

JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Ralph: yes
Rachel: Yes, there was a wall I the dorm of about 5 pay phones, but you couldn't talk on them past a certain hour I think it was 9 or 10

JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Ralph: well you would have to buy a pay card which is a telephone card and or outside people can put it on there credit card
Rachel: I think it was around $2.50 I always called collect and wasn't the one paying

JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Ralph: yes
Rachel: No you van callcolect

JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Ralph: i believe do
Rachel: More than likely. You pretty much relinquish your Constitutional rights when you are in jail, I'm sure all the phone calls are screened. You would have to be pretty dumb to think that they are not listening.
